How to play the ‘Good Word’

‘What is the Good Word?’ was a popular TV word guessing game show when we were growing up. The way it is played is described below. The game is excellent to play with kids in classrooms too. They just enjoy the game.

Choose three to four people as participants. Their purpose is to guess a mystery word called the ‘Good Word’.

A word clue is first given. This is usually the meaning of the word or a cryptic reference to the good word.

This is followed by 3-5 prefix or suffix clues. These are single words which when combined with the good word form a new word or a phrase.

The objective is to be the first to guess the good word.

1. People form opinions about others by looking at this

a. __________Value

b. ________Cream

c. _________Pack

d. _________Book

e. Red__________

Answer: FACE

1. A collection of knowledge for reading

a. ___________Shelf

e. Work__________

 

2. Furniture where the family spends quality time together

a. Time___________

b. _______spoon

c. __________cloth

d. Round____________
