Yes, math is one of those subjects that can be mastered only by repeated practice.
Pencil or pen must meet the paper while practicing math. One cannot commit the steps needed to solve a problem to memory just by a few glances and be confident of reproducing it later. One will surely get stuck midway. Each step is the amalgamation of several lower level math operations. Only when the foundation stands strong will you be able to build further.
You will be able to add a bunch of 5 different numbers provided your ability to recognize their types (decimal, integer, rational, irrational, positive, negative, etc.) is strong.
- Your ability to perform complex multiplication has a direct dependency on how good your addition skills are.
- Your ability to solve a statement problem is contingent on the strength of your knowledge of fundamental mathematical operations and association, deduction.
If practice makes a person achieve better results with Math, then how do we make Math repetition, fun and absorbing?
