A pandemic that curtails your freedom to move about, mingle with friends, socialize with people can be quite frustrating. The frustration build up can cause a loss of focus on tasks that need to be accomplished. What can you do to not lose focus during these COVID times? 1. Focus on the Positives

While the negatives can be a long list, it helps to focus on the positives. Be grateful that you have a roof on your head. Be grateful that your next meal is not a question mark. Look at the lockdown as a time that is a God send for you to complete long pending tasks on your to-do list.

More time to yourself

The lockdown has definitely put more time at your disposal. How you utilize the time is up to you. Do not let go of this ‘once in a lifetime’ opportunity to get going on some of you long awaiting projects.

  • Spend quality time with your family. Keep aside an hour or two to spend on a dedicated basis daily with your kids.
  • Talk to your neighbours. Enquire about their well being. Take up joint projects if possible.

Less distractions

The lockdown also has blessed you with less distractions. No hurriedly called meetings to attend. No pressure to multi-task. No nagging boss or the irritating colleague who keeps popping into your cubicle.

Less distractions also means a chance to be more productive at what you do. Work on projects for dedicated 30-40 minute slots to get the immense satisfaction of having completed something substantial and worthy of mention.

2. Prioritize tasks

Planning is a key task. Keep aside 10 minutes each day to plan your day. Jot down your plan in the form of a to-do list or a note that acts as your beacon for the rest of the day. Try not to stray from it as much as possible. This simple 10 minute exercise will get you the much needed focus during lockdown.
